Five people have now died from COVID-19, reports Public Health Sudbury & Districts

Health unit said there were three new cases Sunday, with 62 active cases

Public Health Sudbury and Districts is reporting three new cases of COVID-19 and two new deaths in the area.

Amberwood Suites confirmed Saturday evening a second resident died from the virus following an outbreak on Jan. 5. There is no information regarding the second death listed in today's update.

All three new cases are in the Greater Sudbury area.

Nine more cases have been resolved, bringing the number of active cases to 62, down from 68 yesterday. 

Across the province, 3,422 new cases were confirmed today. The province is also reporting 69 deaths over the past 24 hours. Included in the 69 deaths were 11 individuals living in long-term care homes.
