Flag?s 70,000 acre holdings in the western sector of the Wanapitei Anomaly, the five-mile long adjoining magnetic and gravity anomaly to the Sudbury Anomaly, is estimated to have contained 1,648,000,000 tons of nickel, copper, platinum, palladium and other rare metals.

Brooksbank is a seasoned mining professional with over 30 years experience in the international, and consulting and operational management fields.

He graduated from the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College of Science and Technology, London University.

Prior to starting his own management services company in 1999, he was the manager of international mining for AGRA Monenco,Calgary.

Brooksbank worked for Inco for eight years in various roles at Copper Cliff, Sudbury, Indonesia (as chief mining engineer, P.T. International Nickel, Soroaka, Indonesia) and head office in Toronto.

Back in 1980, Flag acquired its first holdings in the prolific Sudbury mining camp and subsequently discovered the Wolf Lake and Jess Lake gold deposits near Mackelcan Township on the Wanapitei Anomaly. It later switched its focus to nickel, copper, platinum and palladium prospects and has concentrated on the 85-kilometre long Wanapitei Anomaly which is less than 50 kilometre north east of the Sudbury Anomaly.

In 1972 Wanapetei was frozen for exploration under an Indian Land Caution but in 1990 the western half was opened up and Flag Resources jumped in with both feet and now has around 70,000 acres in six townships.

Joint ventures involving Anglo America and Amplats are located just to the south east of two of them and millions of dollars are due to be spent over the next few years.

In 1996 the eastern half was opened and there was a staking rush as the potential of Wanapitei gained further recognition.
