Four schools in Sudbury and one in Spanish are closed as of Nov. 22 due to COVID-19 exposures, all of them part of the Conseil Scolaire Catholique Nouvelon school board. These schools are: École St-Antoine, École Sainte-Anne (Spanish), École St-Pierre, École St-Augustin and École St-Dominique. Each school will be closed until Nov. 29, with classes resuming on Nov. 30. All associated daycares are also closed, except for École St-Augustin, where the infant and toddler program open remains in operation.

All schools are still open for online learning.

A letter to parents from the board details how students will be supported in their learning, including at home in a virtual format until their return to the classroom.

“Teachers will communicate with students and families through the Students’ Portal (Portail élèves) and the Parents’ Portal (Portail parents) to inform them of the upcoming steps and explain how this will unfold,” states the letter. “The distribution of technological tools is expected to take place in the coming days according to the needs of families, while always respecting recommendations from Public Health Sudbury and Districts.”
