The Freedom Riders Motorcycle Association of Northern Ontario will be hosting their 24th Annual Freedom Rally at the Mine Mill Campground Aug. 4-7.

The annual event includes three fun-filled nights of camping, escorted rides, free hot dog roasts, breakfasts, bonfires, field events, a catered Sunday supper and live entertainment courtesy of Spyder’s Web Band.

The Freedom Rally is the club’s biggest annual event and is the held at the Mine Mill Campground at Richard Lake in Sudbury every August long weekend, attracting riders from all over Ontario and from as far away as North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.

The field events, held on Sunday, Aug. 6 at 1 p.m., are open to the public for viewing at no charge. The general public are invited to come out to watch games of skill, with and without motorcycles. Donations are welcomed but not required for attendance.

Registration forms can be found at the club’s website, or you can register in person at the rally.

Through the Freedom Rally and other fund raising activities, the club has been able to make donations of almost $50,000 to children and families in our community, including donations to NEO Kids, purchase of an electric wheelchair, and assisting with medical-related expenses such as accommodations at Ronald McDonald House, just to name a few.
