The Freedom Riders Motorcycle Association of Northern Ontario donated $2,000 to the Burnscar Garment Fund which is operated from the Hand and Upper Limb Rehabilitation Department of the Sudbury Regional Hospital.

The money was raised through the Freedom Riders' annual Freedom Rally last August.

The money will be used to help purchase garments for children with second and third degree burns.

clipThe government pays 75 percent of the funding required through the Assistive Devices program and the Burnscar Garment Fund accounts for the remaining 25 percent.

Garments are worn 24 hours a day for two years until scarring is mature and changed every two months on average. A sleeveless vest can cost up to $320.
