Years of persistence has paid off for a Garson man who finds himself nearly $80,000 richer after winning the Lotto 6/49 draw last week.

Marc Venne, who has been using the same numbers since Lotto 6/49 began in 1982, purchased the winning ticket at the Garson Mini Mart and is planning on buying a new vehicle and taking a Hawaiian cruise in January.

Venne said he's thought about retiring his lucky numbers in the past, but is thankful he didn't.
