George Thorogood & The Destroyers will not be playing their May 12 show at Sudbury Arena after all. But they also won’t be playing any dates on their upcoming Canadian and U.S. tour.

The blues artist announced through his management today that he has been diagnosed with a “very serious” but undisclosed medical condition that will require surgery, and as such, the tour can’t proceed as planned.

“With great sadness, we must announce the cancellation of our Canadian & U.S. tour dates from April 27, 2023 through May 21, 2023,” a statement from Thorogood’s management reads. “George has been diagnosed with a very serious medical condition that will require immediate surgery and quite a few weeks of recuperation and healing.”

Thorogood promised he and the band would be back on the road as soon as he’s able.

Tickets to his Bad All Over The World – 50 Years of Rock tour will be refunded at the point of purchase.
