On Dec. 16, 80-year-old Sanka Good rescued a neighbour from drowning in the Pickerel River. The neighbour's snowmobile had gone through the open ice, and the current pulled the man past Good's residence. She recently received the Governor General's certificate of commendation. In the photo Sanka Good is congratulated by Sudbury Mayor Jim Gordon and Jim Doyle, the neighbour Sanka rescued.
