In the world of Information Technology, Cambrian College student Jeffrey Watson is a young-gun all-star.

He graduates next month from the Computer Systems Technology program. However, he is not getting any time to rest before he heads out on an experience of a lifetime.

The 26-year-old from Yellowknife is heading to Florida next month, where he will take his place as a member of the 2018 Cisco Live "Dream Team" at the Cisco Live event in Orlando.

He is the sole Canadian on the 11-member Dream Team. His application video was chosen Best Video Submission.

“There are no words to describe how incredible it feels to make the Cisco Live Dream Team,” said Watson, in a press release.

“I felt as though I made my hometown of Yellowknife and my family proud. The day I learned I made the team was the best day of my life and I could not have achieved this without my amazing instructors at Cambrian College.”

As a member of the Dream Team, Watson will help deploy and support the Network Operations Center at Cisco Live. This is Cisco’s largest customer event, with close to 30,000 people expected to attend.

“Without a doubt, Jeff Watson is the kind of person you want on your dream team. This is a big deal and we’re all so proud that Jeff was chosen,” says Bob Vachon, Coordinator of Cambrian’s Computer Systems Technology and Network Technician programs.

“Jeff has maintained an impressive 3.6 G.P.A. and now stands to graduate with Scholar standing! He is a natural team leader who is mature, empathetic, inclusive, and with a cheery attitude and big smile.

“Cisco is a worldwide leader in IT and networking and is also a great partner with Cambrian. Jeff is going to get some serious and high-level exposure to the industry right after graduation.”

Cambrian College is an authorized Cisco Systems Networking Academy. Students of Cambrian’s Computer Systems Technology and Network Technician programs graduate with all the in-depth technical and customer service skills needed to manage and solve the networking, security, wireless access, and VoIP needs of support teams within organizations of all sizes.
