Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Greater Sudbury and vicinity.

Approximately 15 to 20 cm of snow is likely for Tuesday.

A developing low pressure system from Wyoming is expected to track across northeastern Ontario Tuesday. Snow is expected to begin early Tuesday morning and continue through much of the day.

Precipitation should fall mainly as snow though Manitoulin Island and is expected to transition to rain Tuesday afternoon which will limit snowfall amounts to 10 to 15 cm.

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
