Greater Sudbury under rainfall warning, with heavy rain expected Thursday night into Friday

This rain is the result of a Colorado Low that will track through parts of northeastern Ontario on Friday.

Greater Sudbury and vicinity is under a rainfall warning.

Rain, at times heavy, expected tonight and Friday, said the warning, issued by Environment Canada early Thursday.

Rainfall amounts of 40 to 60 mm are expected. Locally higher amounts are possible in thunderstorms on Friday.

Rain will taper off Friday evening.

This rain is the result of a Colorado Low that will track through parts of northeastern Ontario on Friday.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
