Hail is being reported in different parts of the city, with the Weather Network reporting that a warning is in effect until early this evening.
“Scattered thunderstorms are forecast with many expected to produce pea-sized hail,” the network said in a special weather statement. “And it may be abundant enough to partially cover the ground in some locales. The main concern is damage to tender crops and plants. Isolated wind gusts to 70 km/h are also possible.”
The organized thunderstorm activity should move east of the area by this evening, the statement said.
