Heartwarming gift: Local family donates homemade hand sanitizer to St. Joseph’s Villa

The local long-term care home is mourning the death of a resident who tested positive for COVID-19

As St. Joseph’s Villa mourns the death of a resident who had tested positive for COVID-19, the Greater Sudbury long-term care home recently received a heartwarming gift from a local family.

Johnathon Gillis and his family decided to make a homemade hand sanitizer for residents and staff at St. Joseph’s Villa.

The special delivery package came with a heartfelt note (you can read the note in the photo gallery above).

“In these uncertain times, this thoughtful gift for our residents and staff is heartwarming and brings a tear to the eye,” said Jo-Anne Palkovits, president and CEO/administrator.

“Thank you to the Gillis family for helping keep the residents and staff of St. Joseph’s Villa safe. It is truly appreciated.”
