To celebrate the excellence in service that Inner-City Home provides to the community, the charitable organization is holding a soirée on May 17.

The soirée is a "stay away" fundraiser.

Broadcasted live on Inner-City Home's Facebook page, the virtual event will include entertainment and prizes.

"The goal is to raise $60,000 to ensure the continued success of our agency, said board president Joe Drago. "The numbers needing help continue to rise."

In 2020, Inner-City Home has experienced record-breaking visits, and 2,519 children were supported from both food bank locations. Inner-City served more than 1,100 households every month last year.

"Feeding the community is much more than the provision of food. We continue to innovate and provide services and support that address the complex long-term issues that create hunger and food insecurity," said Jennifer Grooms, executive director. "We are facing some very dark and challenging times in our city."

The event will take place on May 17 at 7 p.m. on Facebook.

Tickets for the Stay Away Soirée are $100, three for $200 or eight for $500 (with a tax receipt).

Ticket holders will be entered into a draw for a signed and authenticated Connor McDavid jersey. There are two $1000 cash prizes, dinner for four in your own home with dessert and wine catered by Chef Mika Koskela, two $250 gas cards and a $250 gift voucher for a restaurant of your choice.

For tickets, phone 705-675-7550 or visit innercityhome.com.
