A new festival is happening today at noon in Bell Park, one that features not only the best of Northern Ontario, but the best of artists who identify as women.

Her Northern Voice, hosted by the Sudbury Performance Group, will take place in Bell Park at the William Bell Gazebo from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Then, the Coulson Entertainment Centre will take over the event from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets for the event at the Coulson – a performance by Crystal Shawanda – are $20, found here. The events at Bell Park are free to all.

The Sudbury Performance Group will be working with Sudbury Women’s Centre and YWCA Sudbury to offer a chance for Northern artists to showcase Canadian hits or their original works.

Artists like Ashley Woodruff, Chanelle Albert and The Easy Company, Monochrome, Patricia Watson and Tessa&Petr will perform at Bell Park, with Shawanda wrapping up the night at The Coulson Entertainment Centre.

You can find more information about the Her Northern Voice festival on the Sudbury Performance Group’s website, found here. Keep an eye on Sudbury.com for coverage of the festival.
