The August Civic Holiday is already upon us. It’s happens to be this coming Monday in case it’s been awhile since you’ve looked at a calendar

Here’s a list of the municipal services that are operating (and not operating) on Aug. 3.

Landfills and transfer stations are closed.

Tom Davies Square, including the Citizen Service Centre, will be closed.

The Greater Sudbury Animal Shelter will not accept appointments for visits. If you are interested in adopting a pet, call 311 to schedule a visit.

Household waste collection will go ahead as scheduled and the Recycling Centre will be open.

GOVA Transit will follow holiday routes and schedules. Here’s a link to the holiday schedule, in case you need it, and the phone number, if that’s your preference, 705-675-3333.

Fireworks are prohibited on the Civic Holiday.

Bonfires are permitted provided property owners are compliant with the City’s Open Air Burning Bylaw that specifies setbacks from structures and additional conditions.
