The Nipissing West OPP have released the name of the victim of a fatal crash on Highway 144 June 19.
Dead is Jean Desjardins, 46, of Onaping.
The OPP are requesting assistance from the public from any vehicles with dash cameras, especially commercial motor vehicles, travelling between Dowling and Onaping on Highway 144 between 12-2 p.m. on June 19, 2022.

Highway 144 was reopened as of 1 a.m. Monday morning, according to a tweet from the OPP.

The motor vehicle collision that closed Highway 144 between Dowling and Onaping Falls was fatal.
An OPP media release notes that the incident took place at approximately 1:30 p.m. today and involved two vehicles.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a commercial motor vehicle and a passenger vehicle were involved in the collision and that one of the vehicles caught fire.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. Their name will not be released until next of kin has been notified.
The collision is under investigation and will result in the highway being closed in both directions for approximately eight hours, according to an OPP media release issued at 5:30 p.m. Members of the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team will attend to process the scene.
