The Sault Ste. Marie detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have announced Highway 17 at Alona Bay North of Sault Ste. Marie is closed to traffic.
"The OPP have initiated a closure of Highway 17 north of Sault Ste. Marie due to road conditions," police said in a news release Sunday.
"There is no detour available and the estimated duration of the highway closure is unknown."
