Firefighters will be doing battle on the ice Thursday morning in Garson to help one of their own.

Sudbury firefighters will be taking on their counterparts from Toronto at 10:30 a.m. at Garson Arena in support of Hudson Fletcher, 9, who is battling cancer.

Hudson is the son of Corey, a firefighter, and Natalie, a teacher. He has a 15-year old-sister named Dylan.

A news release said the game will raise money for the family, who have been travelling back and forth to Toronto for treatment.

“With the help of many local sponsors, we've invited students from St. Augustin, St. John, Northeastern and St. Anne to pack the house and cheer us on,” the release said. “We have a bunch of incredible prizes for the kids, and a very special surprise for Hudson at the conclusion of the game.”
