In response to respiratory illness (swine flu) reports in Mexico, the United States and Canada, the Sudbury Regional Hospital (HRSRH) is reinforcing its infection control standards with the following reminders.

Regular hand washing is one of the best methods for preventing the spread of infectious viruses. Help limit the spread of these viruses and promote the safety of the hospital's patients by remembering to use the hand washing stations, located at every public entrance and in each patient room.

All visitors must wash their hands or use hand gel sanitizer for 15 seconds upon entering and leaving the hospital.

Do not visit patients if you are not feeling well or have any of these symptoms: cough, sore throat, fever, runny nose, vomiting and/or diarrhea.

While the hospital understands the emotional need to be with loved ones who are sick, you may be putting that loved one, and others, at great risk, a press release stated.
