The deadline to complete the Sudbury Regional Hospital?s operation review has been pushed back to the end of August. The final date has now been set for Aug. 28.

A committee appointed by the province is looking at how every penny has been spent at the hospital since a massive expansion project began three years ago. The committee has planned on sending its recommendations to the province more than a month ago. The review is looking at ways to trim the hospital?s annual $30 million operating deficit and explore why the hospital?s capital construction project, had such dramatic cost overruns.

Committee chair Paul Aube promised the final committee report will be finished by the end of August.
