The new owners of the former St. Joseph health centre site do not take formal ownership of the property until July 28, Gordon Drysdale said.
That still gives the community a chance to fight the sale and begin the process of gaining public control over the site, he said. He is organizing a public meeting July 8 at the Jubilee Hall on Applegrove Street at 7 p.m. to discuss what options the community has left.
“This is our last stand,” he wrote in a letter. He said the new owners, Panoramic Properties of Niagara Falls, still have to submit their plans for development to the city and have the current institutional zoning changed to allow for their new concept.
