A Sudbury group home has received more than $20,000 from Human Resources Development Canada to hire a research co-ordinator.

The group home, Hope House, will receive the funds under HRDC?s Job Creation Partnerships program.

The research co-ordinator will provide ?research that will lead to enhancements in the care of, and treatments for, troubled children and youth,? says a media release.

According to Hope House owner/operator Kim Letourneau, the research co-ordinator, is a psychology graduate from Laurentian University. Her name is not being released to the media. The location of Hope House is also confidential.

Hope House currently provides a safe haven for six female youths aged between 13 and 16 and has a staff ratio of two staff per six youths.

Letourneau said the reason Hope House seems veiled in mystery is because one of its ruling principles is maintaining the individual?s right to confidentiality.
