The Health Sciences North Foundation was recognized Dr. Rayudu Koka’s contributions to the success of the Bell Heroes for Change Golf Classic through the installation of a birdbath in the Koka garden located at the Ramsey Lake Health Centre at Health Sciences North.

“I would like express my sincere thanks to Health Sciences North Foundation whose support has helped to increase HSN’s capacity to deliver the highest quality mental health and addictions care while raising awareness and reducing the stigma of mental illness,” said Koka, the hospital's medical director for mental health and addictions, in a press release.

Because of his commitment and support, the Bell Heroes for Change Golf Classic raised more than $110,000 for mental health and addictions programs in northeastern Ontario.

“The addition of a birdbath to the Koka garden at Health Sciences North seemed a fitting way to say thank you to Dr. Koka while enhancing a peaceful sanctuary for patients of HSN and their families,” said Mary Lou Hussak, executive director of the Health Sciences North Foundation, in a press release.
