HSN honours victims of Ornge air ambulance crash

Dagenais also had a family connection with the hospital. His aunt is a registered practical nurse who works in one of Health Sciences North's nephrology satellite clinics.

“These four men were husbands, fathers, sons, family members, colleagues and friends. For us here at HSN they, were part of our health-care team and family,” said Mike McCann, chair of the hospital's board of directors, in a release. “The pain from this tragedy is still felt within our walls here at HSN. We believe it is important to ensure that their lives and valuable contributions are not forgotten.”

The four men's family members and colleagues gathered at the Ramsey Lake Health Centre to pay them tribute.

“Today HSN remembers and honours four very special people who were our friends and colleagues in health care. Their tragic deaths have been the source of profound grief for many of us, especially for their families. But through this sadness we can take some comfort in their legacy,” said Health Sciences North president and CEO Denis Roy, in a release.

“There are people across northern Ontario who are alive and healthier because of them. That is their work. That is their legacy. And it is the reason we are here today.”
