Huntington pres to be honoured by government of Finland

University will return the honour by awarding Finnish ambassador

Huntington University president Kevin McCormick will be recognized by the government of Finland with a national award this evening.

A private investiture ceremony, hosted by His Excellency Vesa Lehtonen, Ambassador of Finland to Canada, is scheduled to be held tonight. Sudbury.com will be covering the award presentation.

The university will be returning the honour tomorrow.

Lehtonen will be presented with a CFI (Canadian Finnish Institute) Fellowship at an event set to take place at 12 p.m. Feb. 22 at Bryston's on the Park in Copper Cliff. 

Huntington's Canadian Finnish Institute invited the ambassador in recognition of the 150th anniversary of Confederation in Canada and Finland’s 100th anniversary of Independence.
