A broken hydro pole is snarling traffic along a section of Kelly Lake Road, Greater Sudbury Utilities reported Friday afternoon.

The broken pole is hanging in the air between Copper and Robinson streets, the GSU said in a release.

"We are about to shut off power in a large part of West End of Greater Sudbury," the release said. "We have a broken pole that is dangerous. We will re-energize in sections."
