The freezing rain warning for Greater Sudbury issued by Environment Canada was ended in the wee hours of the morning, and the Nickel City is now under a deep freeze, with the high today only expected to get up to -15 C.

But if you're travelling south along Highway 69 into the snow belt today or tomorrow, where temperatures are much warmer (it's around -5 C in Parry Sound right now, as opposed to -20 C in Greater Sudbury), you're probably going to run into some snow.

Environment Canada has issued a snow squall warning for areas including Barrie, Orillia and Midland, where lake effect snow squalls are expected starting this morning and continuing on and off throughout today and Wednesday. The most intense snow squalls are likely this afternoon and evening.

A snow squall watch has also been issued for the Muskoka area, including Parry Sound, Bracebridge and Huntsville, where snow squalls are expected after midnight tonight.
