In pictures: The Blue Door Soup Kitchen turns 35

Anniversary BBQ doubles as a birthday party for soup kitchen founder Kaireen Crichton, who turns 92

Over the last 35 years, the Blue Door Soup Kitchen has served more than a million hot meals to those less fortunate in our community.

On May 26, the organization celebrated with a barbeque outside the soup kitchen located on Elgin Street.

The anniversary wasn't the only reason for celebration. Dignitaries, soup kitchen partners and volunteers gathered to wish Blue Door's founder, Kaireen Crichton, a happy 92nd birthday.
