The Walden Mountain Bike Club is hosting its annual Sudbury Fitness Challenge on July 23 at their trails in Naughton.

This year's event will feature a corporate challenge that has been issued by event sponsor Ionic Engineering Ltd.

"We have decided to step it up a bit by introducing a corporate challenge," said a news release from Ionic.

"The day already includes a 4 x 5km relay race that anyone can participate in. We are challenging the corporate community to enter a team and partake in a bit of friendly competition."

The corporate challenge will run under the same 4 x 5km format with four team members biking five kilometers each. Teams are expected to raise a minimum of $500 for their chance at the prizes.

The winners will have 50 per cent of all funds raised donated to the charity of their choice, 50 per cent to the Walden Mountain Bike Club and the opportunity to have a trail at the Walden Mountain Bike Club dedicated in the name of their choosing

"At the end of the day, the pot gets split between the bike club and the charity of the winner’s choice," said the news release. "The club is also throwing in the option for the winning team to select the name of their next trail.  So it’s a win-win-win situation."

Interested participants can put their team together and register online at www.waldenmbc.ca.

If you're up for the challenge, contact Andre Dumais, general manager at Ionic at [email protected].
