Jean Brown named Cambrian's new VP academic

Has won several excellence awards from college over two decades

Cambrian College has announced that Jean Brown will serve as the college’s vice-president academic until 2018, providing consistent leadership to the academic division. 

Brown began as a professor at the college and also served as a program co-ordinator, dean, and has been serving as Interim VPA since July 2016.

She has been recognized for her leadership and professional contributions to the college throughout her career, earning the President’s Award for Excellence in 1994, 2003 and 2015. 

Brown holds a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology as well as a Bachelor of Education degree in Special Education, from the University of Manitoba. 

She also holds a Master of Arts degree in Child and Development Studies from Laurentian University, in addition to other academic credentials. She is active in the Sudbury community and in the Ontario college system as a volunteer on numerous boards and as a professional resource.
