Minnow Lake Place Taekwondo raised more than $3,000 for the CTV-Lion’s Children Christmas Telethon.

On Dec. 3, Minnow Lake Place Taekwondo held their second annual Kick-A-Thon. The funds raised were donated to the CTV-Lion’s Children Christmas Telethon.

Capreol Kick’s Taekwondo also took part in the Kick-A-Thon, raising more than $1,400. The two clubs have teamed for the past two years to raise funds for this cause.

“I am extremely proud of these students for surpassing last year’s total,” said Ghislain Mayotte, instructor at Minnow Lake Place Taekwondo.

“Seeing the hard work and dedication these students had in regards to this cause was amazing.”

The Kick-A-Thon consist of students, kids and adults of any age, kicking paddles with the goal to achieve as many kicks as possible in the three hours allowed.
This year, approximately 40 students took part in the event.

Last year, the club raised $2,700 during their first Kick-A-Thon.

“We are looking forward to beating our new record next year,” said Mayotte.
