All junior and senior kindergarten students attending schools administered by the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario will have access to school bus service starting in September 2009.
Previously, kindergarten students living within 0.5 km of the school could not ride a bus to school. Students between Grades 1 and 12 living within 0.5 km of the school will still have to walk or find alternate transportation.
"As with other school boards, student safety is a top priority for us. We have always believed that this amendment would allow our youngest students to benefit from a safer and more secure means of travel between home and school. We are very happy to be able to assist our constituents in this manner," said school board president Marcel Montpellier.
