Kingsway franchise barBurrito promises fast, fresh food

New Tex-Mex spot in Sudbury has more prep work than a sit down restaurant, says owner John Law

A new restaurant in Sudbury is considered a ‘fast food’ but not your typical one, franchise owner, John Law, told Sudbury.com.

He chose to bring barBurrito to town because it is everything he loves about the other restaurants he owns — ingredients prepped and made in house, and a high standard for quality — but offering a new, COVID friendly way to offer meals.

It’s dine-in quality, without the need to dine in.

“We do more prep work here than at any of my other restaurants,” said Law.

And that’s really saying something.

Originally from Thunder Bay, Law bought a Swiss Chalet here in Sudbury, and hasn’t stopped since. He’s now the owner of Montana’s, Kelsey’s, Cora’s BreakfastJ’s Roadhouse, Swiss Chalet, Overtime Bar, Lot 88 Steakhouse and the cannabis shops, Happy Life Pot Shop, among other companies.

Officially opened on Jan. 19, the food at barBurrito will be Tex-Mex and offered in a way that lets the customer choose exactly the toppings and ingredients they want, including fresh vegetables, sauces and guacamole, all made in-house.

There is also the opportunity for catering, with either a burrito or taco bar, custom platters, and vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are available.

While the restaurant is now open, Law said they are still looking for more employees, and that should you wish to apply, simply take your resume to their location at 1277 The Kingsway.
