Meals on Wheels has provided hot meals to housebound sick and elderly people in Sudbury since 1971.

Unfortunately, the volunteer-run effort is running short on a key element — not food, but the volunteers who help ensure the more than 36,000 nutritious meals it delivers each year get to their destinations.

Without sufficient volunteer support, Meals on Wheels has said it may have “streamline” services in Garson, Coniston, Blezard Valley and Rayside-Belfour, and it's encouraging anyone with the time or the inclination to consider lending their skills to the cause.

For more information or to volunteer, call Meals on Wheels at 705-525-4554.
