Ward 12 Coun. Joscelyne Landry-Altmann reached out to media in the city today to advise that after tonight's city council meeting she will be making a statement regarding the conflict of interest accusation levelled against her last week.

A vocal opponent of The Kingsway arena site filed court documents Dec. 4 accusing Laundry-Altmann of having a pecuniary conflict of interest when she took part in the decision to locate the arena on The Kingsway, made in June of this year.

André Dumais, who resigned from the chamber of commerce earlier this year so he could campaign against moving the arena out of downtown Sudbury, launched the proceedings in Sudbury.

Dumais says in the documents that Landry-Altmann sits on the board of directors of the Sudbury District Motorsports Association, a non-profit board working to establish a facility on land adjacent to the arena, hotel and casino complex being dubbed The Kingsway Entertainment District.

He wants Landry-Altmann removed from office and banned from running in a municipal election for seven years.

Landry-Altmann said she will issue a statement regarding the accusations following tonight's city council meeting.

Check back with Sudbury.com this evening to learn what the Ward 12 councillor had to say.
