A late night fire at a Jean Street duplex caused $150,000 in smoke and fire damage, but the residents of the home managed to escape without injury.
Seventeen firefighters from three stations were called out at 1:38 a.m. to battle the blaze. It took Greater Sudbury Fire Services several hours to gain control of the fire, with the last update coming in around 6 a.m.
Both fire and smoke damage are listed as severe.
Three people were displaced by the fire, but no one — firefighters or civilians — was injured by the blaze.
As GSFS does with fire reports, a fire safety message was issued, reminding people to have working smoke detectors installed in your home.
