Contact interculturel francophone de Sudbury (CIFS) is once again hosting Le Cabaret Africain, the second oldest African festival in Ontario now, on March 26.

Contact interculturel francophone de Sudbury (CIFS) is once again hosting Le Cabaret Africain, the second oldest African festival in Ontario now in its 21st year. This year, they are even happier to announce that the event will once again be in person, on March 26.

Contact interculturel francophone de Sudbury (CIFS) was once a small group of newcomers to Sudbury, but after a rise in Francophones arriving to Sudbury as a designated Welcoming Community, and a study to determine what they could best offer French-speaking newcomers to Sudbury, the group grew in size and adopted the name Contact interculturel francophone de Sudbury (CIFS).

CIFS offers community social programs and services tailored to the needs of French-speaking immigrants in the Greater Sudbury area.

The event will take place at the Steelworkers Hall, 66 Brady Street, beginning at 6 p.m. on March 26. A release from the CIFS states that the event will include: “A buffet of homemade and authentic African cuisine, a fashion show with local African fashion designers from Sudbury, a live performance by a traditional African Dance Group, as well as a dance with a DJ.”

Tickets are $35 for adults, $25 for students and seniors and $15 for children. All of the proceeds go to Contact Interculturel & support for the adjustment of newcomers Families coming into Sudbury.

For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the CIFS website, found here.
