Collège Boréal has awarded its 2012 Prix de la Francophonie (francophone community award) to Justin Lemieux.
The award was presented at a French-Canadian themed banquet featuring two bands — Collège Boréal’s Le CAMP and Toe Jam Tequila.
A native of St. Charles, Lemieux joined Collège Boréal’s team in 2008.
As manager of academic partnerships and recruitment, Lemieux helps northern and central-southwestern young franco-Ontarians to pursue their post-secondary studies in French.
He participates in various committees and boards of directors, such as the Assemblée de la francophonie de l'Ontario, ACFO du grand Sudbury and Club Richelieu Les Patriotes de Sudbury.
“I am delighted about this young Franco-Ontarian whose talent and skills mirror his passion for our language and our culture,” the college's president, Denis Hubert-Dustrisac, said in a press release.
“Through his sincere dedication towards La Francophonie in our province, Justin Lemieux is already an example to his generation and to his peers.”
