The water might still be a little on the chilly side, but lifeguards will be on duty at municipal beaches starting this weekend.

City of Greater Sudbury lifeguards are on duty seven days a week, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the following municipal beaches:

  • Bell Park Main Beach
  • Capreol Public Beach
  • Kalmo Beach
  • Moonlight Beach
  • Nepahwin Park Beach
  • Meatbird Lake Park Beach
  • Whitewater Lake Park Beach

The city wants to remind parents lifeguards are not a substitute for adult supervision of children. Children must be supervised and within arm's reach at all times by an adult caregiver. Older children are reminded to swim with a buddy for greater safety.

Beaches remain open for the season until Aug. 20.
