As many as 200 homes were affected by a power outage Sunday afternoon in -20 C temperatures.

?We had an underground cable failure at just before 2 pm, but crews were rushed to the scene on Bruce Street in the Cambrian Heights area and we got it fixed for most people by 4 pm,? said Brian McMillan, vice-president of distribution for Sudbury Hydro.

However, approximately 100 residents of Unicorn Co-operative at 725 Bruce St. were not so lucky said Brent Huot, Unicorn property manager.

?Part of our 60 units did not have electricity for another two hours because two of our transformers were blown in the disruption. Luckily our maintenance person lives on-site. He was able to co-ordinate with Sudbury Hydro,? he said.

?Though temperatures were low we had no complaints. Hydro was correct in its estimate of when the power would return, so there was no panic.?
