United Way Centraide North East Ontario/Nord-est de l’Ontario (UWCNEO) has established a Community Response Fund to provide emergency grants to local charitable organizations working to meet the basic needs of individuals disproportionately impacted by the coronavirus (COVID-19).

“The Community Response Fund will help to ensure that emergency funding is available to charities across the North East Region who are providing essential support and services to help our most vulnerable people stay healthy,” said Patrick Brouzes, UWCNEO board president.

Mary Lou Hussak, executive director with UWCNEO, encourages organizations to reach out to United Way.

“If you are able, please give generously. If you are an organization in need of emergency funding, please reach out to United Way,” she said. “We are in this together. We are a strong, resilient community, and together, we will make it through this uncertain time.”

Donations to the Community Response Fund can be made at UWCNEO.com or mailed to 957 Cambrian Heights Dr., Unit 201, Sudbury ON, P3C 5S5. Additional information about the fund is also available on the website.
