Lockerby Composite School is calling all Vikings for a reunion. The school will celebrate its 50th anniversary on the August long weekend in 2009.

Alumni and staff are invited to enjoy a variety of activities from Friday, July 31 to Sunday, Aug. 2, including opening ceremonies, alumni sport events, a golf tournament, a gala dinner and much more.

"All those who once proudly called the school their homeland are invited to return for an unforgettable gathering of Viking history and a celebration of Valhalla spirit and friendship," said Lockerby Composite School principal Heather Gaffney.

"It will be a wonderful opportunity to reminisce and rejoice."

Those who are former Vikings, or know someone who is, are asked to spread the word about the 50th anniversary reunion.

"Viking volunteers are also needed to help make the celebration a memorable chapter in Lockerby Composite School's rich history," Gaffney added.

If you are interested in volunteering, contact Lockerby Composite School at 522-1750.
