Marxist-Leninist Party fields three Northern candidates

With the federal election eight weeks away, the Marxist-Leninist Party of Canada (MLPC) announced its three Northern Ontario candidates today. Dave Starbuck, a math teacher at Cambrian College, will run in Sudbury.

With the federal election eight weeks away, the Marxist-Leninist Party of Canada (MLPC) announced its three Northern Ontario candidates today.

Dave Starbuck, a math teacher at Cambrian College, will run in Sudbury. University support staff worker Steve Rutchinski is running in Nickel Belt. Mike Taffarel, an Algoma Steel millwright, will campaign in Sault Ste. Marie. All three candidates ran in the 2004 election.

Nationally, the party has announced the names of 71 candidates running under the Marxist-Leninist banner.

Party officials are encouraging voters to visit the MLPC Internet site at www.mlpc.ca for contact information for candidates as well as views and discussion on various issues.
