Monarch Recovery Services is introducing a new Intensive Day Treatment Program for men who need substance abuse treatment.

“In keeping with the Northeast LHIN’s Addictions Services Review, that recognized the lack of intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment, and with the support of the LHIN, we have chosen to offer an alternative to a men’s residential treatment program, in Sudbury,” said CEO Kathryn Irwin-Seguin, in a press release.

“This new program is a significant step to our commitment in delivering quality programs for men in our community,” said Monarch's board president, Richard Picard.

“Substantial research has gone into developing this new intensive day program geared specifically for the complex need of men in recovery.  Going forward we will be able to provide treatment, aftercare and supportive housing so that our clients are able to receive all the necessary support in their recovery right here in Sudbury.”

Run out of 517 Kathleen St., the program will run Monday to Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for five weeks. The first five-week cycle will begin on Monday, July 11.

An open house takes place from noon to 2 p.m. July 6.

Monarch Recovery Services (formerly known as Rockhaven and Iris Addiction Recovery for Women) offers a number of programs, both residential, outpatient and outreach to men and women in the Sudbury area.

The two agencies have provided a combined service of almost 90 years.
