Updated: Three hurt in industrial accident at Glencore Wednesday evening

Greater Sudbury Police say they're working in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour to investigate an industrial accident at Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations, A Glencore Company in Falconbridge Wednesday.

Police say they received a call about the accident at around 9 p.m. May 9. A 56-year old man was transported to hospital in critical condition and a 55-year old man and 46-year old man were treated by paramedics for non-life threatening injuries.

The Ministry of Labour is taking the lead in the investigation, say police.

The Ministry of Labour is currently investigating an incident that injured a worker at Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations on May 9.

It was reported that a worker came in contact with a substance causing injuries. 

According to media reports, the worker was transported to Sunnybrook Hospital.

"A ministry inspector attended the scene. No orders were issued and our investigation is ongoing," said MOL spokesperson Janet Deline.
