The Ontario government's commitment to create 73,000 new student spaces passed another milestone with the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new centre for hospitality, tourism and ecotourism management at Canadore College in North Bay this week.

The government is investing $1.8 billion to create new student spaces in campuses to prepare for the expected increase in enrolment.

SuperBuild has contributed $1.78 million to the total cost of the project which will include 97 new student spaces in time for the double cohort in 2003. At the new centre, Canadore will offer such programs as tourism, hotel, restaurant and resort management and ecotourism.
