Updated: Power now restored to all area Hydro One customers; outage caused by squirrel

Power has now been restored to all area customers, Hydro One reports. The outage was caused by a squirrel in the power station.

Nearly 1,600 Hydro One customers in Greater Sudbury are without power this morning. 

The utility said 1.575 customers in the townships of Blezard, Dryden, Garson, Hanmer and Capreol are affected.

The outage started at 7:47 a.m. Sunday. Power is expected to be restored by 10:30 a.m.

The cause of the outage is a broken device in the power station. Crews are on-site making repairs.
