For the past six years, students and staff at St. Benedict Catholic Secondary School have participated in the TD Toy Bank.

Partnered with TD CanadaTrust and the Salvation Army, students bring in new, unwrapped toys, which are then given to the Salvation Army.

These toys are distributed in the days before Christmas to families who are struggling at this time of year.

The toys that are donated by students and staff help make Christmas morning a little brighter for hundreds of children in our community.

Over the years, St. Benedict has donated more than 7,000 toys to the annual campaign. The latest toy drive saw more than 640 toys being collected, which surpasses the goal of one toy per student.

“At the core of our belief is that Jesus was born and came into the world to bring the good news of God’s love for his people,” said an email from the school.

“Jesus made it his mission to care for the poor and those in need, while proclaiming the gospel. St. Benedict is blessed to be able to carry on the mission of Jesus in this very tangible way.”
