Mandarin MS Walk events across Ontario have raised more than $3.8 million for multiple sclerosis research in 2014.
On Sunday, May 25, participants in Sudbury joined nine other communities across the province for their annual walks.
The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada estimates 100,000 Canadians have the disease.
The disease attacks the myelin which is a protective covering wrapped around the nerves of the central nervous system.
Multiple sclerosis symptoms can range from a loss of sensitivity or changes in sensation such as tingling, pins and needles or numbness, muscle weakness, very pronounced reflexes, muscle spasms, or difficulty in moving.
Difficulties thinking and emotional problems such as depression or unstable mood are also common.
